Scandinavian drinking binge ends up in Mallorca

Two young Danish men were awarded the ‘Drunken Idiot of the Year’ prize by a national newspaper for the year’s most idiotic act under the influence of alcohol, reports The Copenhagen Post. The two had been to a friend’s birthday party in Copenhagen, where they became drunk. After the party they continued their drinking session at several bars around the city, at last ending up at Copenhagen Airport in the early hours. Both students then lost all recollection of what happened next but woke up late the next morning in Palma. The two had seemingly purchased tickets to Mallorca at the Air Berlin counter but remembered nothing of it. The trip cost them each 600 euros, but by way of consolation, they were awarded a supply of free beer by the newspaper for their ‘idiocy´. (JH)
